In this edition of Talk&Taste: Evenings at Essex Street Market, we’re exploring how producers are reviving some of NYC’s oldest -- and most guarded -- Jewish food traditions, and bringing them back into the spotlight. We’ll hear from Rick Field, owner of Rick’s Picks; David Zablocki, co-owner of Kossar’s; and Naama Shefi, founder of the Jewish Food Society, which aims to preserve and revitalize Jewish food traditions.

Our talk will be moderated by Emily Halpern, former educator at Tenement Museum and creator of The RePast Project, a blog which explores ways to keep traditional cooking relevant in our modern world.

We’ll begin the evening at 6:30pm with a small tasting of traditional Jewish foods. Our panel discussion will go from 7-8pm. RSVP is free but required!
