During this installment of Talk&Taste: Evenings at Essex Street Market, we will explore the changing commercial landscape of NYC's Lower East Side and its impact on a historically immigrant neighborhood. What’s being sold, who is selling it, and how has that exchange changed drastically over time?

The evening starts with a reception at 6:30pm featuring food samples from vendors at Essex Street Market and complimentary Tiger Beer, and then a discussion from 7-8pm led by the authors of Global Cities, Local Streets (Routledge, 2016), Philip Kasinitz and Sharon Zukin, sociologists at the CUNY Graduate Center.

Tickets are free but RSVP is required!
