While many believe the "I.M." to stand for "I'm," the name actually refers to head baker Tiffany Washington's grandmother, Ilene Miriam, who inspired her start baking as a kid. Now Tiffany has partnered with Tamika Young to opened up her own pastry studio, doling out delectable cupcakes, cakes, cookies, and specialty creations. Tiffany is a self-taught baker -- but you wouldn't know it from her custom designed cakes! She's transformed everything from sports jerseys, to brownstone buildings, to Rubik's cubes into tiered cakes. At Essex Street Market, I.M. Pastry Studio will also be serving up their notorious alcohol-infused treats, including a margarita cupcake and rum raisin cookie.
